The Awesome Power of Your Words!

What are you saying about you?

If you say you can’t, you’re right! If you say you can you are right!

I believe that one of the most powerful forces in the earth in any generation is found in our words. There is a verse in the Bible that says this "A man will live his life out of the fruit of his lips". The fruit of our lips are our words; whether they are positive or negative will determine so much about the types of lives we will live out.

You cannot live consistently in a dimension of life that is greater than your words. Words are the acid test for what we truly believe about ourselves and our world.

Peoples lives become framed by the content of their words, you don’t even have to be aware that this law of life is at work for it to take force. Think about someone who is constantly talking down about themselves, saying things like "I always get things wrong" or "Nothing good ever happens to me", how about” I will always get overlooked".

The sad thing is that the reality for these people is that they’re usually are right about all of these things. However take the same person and teach him how to think and speak differently about himself and his world and you would get a whole different outcome.

We are more powerful than we truly know; we have a great capacity to make things happen whether they are good or bad. Inside each and every individual on planet earth lays the latent potential of an extraordinary life. God made you as a formidable creature with unique gifts and talents that make you a cut above anything else that lives in this universe.

If you take a moment to think about the great achievements and advancements that have come from the minds of people throughout history, it’s hard to argue that we are magnificent creatures especially when you take into account that most of these mighty acts have been accomplished with the majority of us using less than 10% of our brains capacity.

Words are powerful because they set our subconscious minds into motion with regards to making the things that we have said happen. Once you say something, your subconscious mind goes into overdrive to make it happen, it does not distinguish whether it will be good or bad for you; it simply accepts it as truth and does whatever you tell it to do. When you say that "you always mess something up" your subconscious minds goes about helping you mess the thing up that you said you always do. If you say something is impossible then your subconscious mind agrees and does not even try and find you a solution, because you already told it that it was impossible!

How many opportunities have you missed because you disempowered yourself with negative words?

I believe one of the most destructive words that could ever be spoken is the word "cant".
I wish we never had this word in our English language; this word alone has robbed millions of people of a dimension of living that would have been extraordinary.

There are not many things in life that can’t be done. A man has walked on the moon, we can speak to people through a computer in real time on the other side of the world and communism fell in the Soviet Union with a bullet being fired.
This little word needs to be eradicated from your thinking with regards to your potential and ultimate capacity, almost anything can be done, it may just take some more time, sacrifice or support, but most things can be accomplished.
You just need to position yourself in the positive mode of believing that your current limitations are not the boundaries of your capacity.

You can if you really want to!

What is it that you have been saying to yourself that can’t be done?

“I can’t start that business because …..”
“I can’t approach that person because…..”
“I can’t forgive that person because…..”
“I can’t try again because …….”

Decide that "cant" will no longer rob you of all the great things that are waiting for you to embrace them any longer.

So, what are you saying about you?

Answer the question

“Answer the question”

John Maxwell says that "The two best days of your life are, the day you born and the day you discovered why". It amazes me how many people do not really know why they are on planet earth and what they are to do with their lives.

I know this is not an easy question to answer, most people don’t just wake up one morning with an epiphany about why they were born, some find the answer in a trial of fire, some find the answer by experimenting with lots of different things, some find the answer to this question as they purpose to serve causes that are greater than themselves.

I do not believe anyone else can answer this question for you; it just doesn’t work that way.
I usually tell people that it is up to each one of us to wrestle the answer from the hand of God.
What I mean by this is that the struggle towards discovering our purpose empowers us towards fulfilling it.
Once you go through the pain and internal discomfort that it takes to discover your purpose, you will be less likely to quit in the midst of challenges and set backs.

It cost you too much to come to your place of conviction concerning your purpose.

Whilst your life’s purpose is not always glaringly obvious to you immediately, there are a few key questions that will help you unlock this issue.

1) What am I naturally good at?

Think about this for a moment with me. What are the areas in your life that you seem to have greater success in than others?
What just clicks with you more than anything else?
Are you naturally creative, athletic, positive, insightful, influential or intellectual?
Your purpose will not live far away from your natural giftings

2) What brings energy, passion and excitement to my life?

You will know that you are living in touch with your purpose if you find yourself easily motivated by what you are doing and achieving.
Equilibrium will permeate your inner self bringing passion and excitement to your world. Find those things that you are naturally drawn to

3) If I had all the money I ever needed and no limitations on my time or energy, what would I be doing with my life?

Once you remove all the excuses for why you believe you could not set out to fulfill your purpose from your mind and get really honest with yourself about what it is that you would spend your life on if there were no limitations (which if we get down to it, most limitations are nothing more than the borders of our current thinking anyway) You will be on the road to greater clarity and definition of purpose

I believe that successful people aren’t necessarily any more naturally gifted or fortunate than the next person; they just tend to ask better questions about themselves.

You will be amazed at how energized and potent your life will become once you establish what your purpose is and allow the law of intentional focus to do its work. Things like lack of money, education, natural talents will no longer inhibit your quest towards fulfilling your purpose, all that stuff comes to the feet of a focused person.

I remember some years ago having an idea about creating a business that sold inspirational stationary, this was really exciting for me as I had already established that one of the key areas of purpose for my life was going to be encouraging people towards becoming all they could be.I lived on about 4 hours sleep a night for about 18 months as I stayed up architecting what this company would look like. As I got closer and closer to launching the business I was acutely aware that I did not have the $200,000 needed to launch the project.
I remember becoming a little discouraged at this point until I heard a mentor of mine say “that resources have a way of ending up in the hands of energized focused people”. I took this to heart and remained focused on the dream at hand.
In the next couple of months I was called up by a graphics design guy whom I had not seen for years who jumped at the prospect of partnering with me on this project, next came a guy who was looking for an opportunity to invest some money into, after this I received a call from a guy who offered me a position that ended up placing me in contact with the major customers that would buy my products over the next four years.

If only just one of these things had happened, you could put it down to coincidence if you wanted to be skeptical, but over and over again, I found that remaining resilient and focused caused me to be in the right place at the right time for all these things to play out.

Its time to become as specific as you can be with regards to what you were born to do, who you are supposed to become and what you are called to have. You have been given this wonderful gift called life; you owe it to yourself, your family and your friends to live it to the full.

Answer the question for yourself and start living out your best life on purpose.

Do something

“Do something”

Life owes you only what you demand from it with your actions and faith

The law to life says that it will only pay you the price that you demand from it via the decisions you choose to make and the steps you choose to take.

A large part of your life is undecided as far as to what course you will follow, life awaits for you to choose the level of journey that you will experience through the quality of the actions you decide to take.

That’s not to say that I don’t believe in destiny or the sovereignty of God in all things. I believe in these truths emphatically, its just that if you take a truth to an extreme you will eventually have an lie.

The best way for me to describe my perspective is via an analogy of a massive cruise ship.
Our lives are represented by the ship, the ocean is time and the ultimate destination of the ship is our eternal destiny. The captain of the ship is God , He has the command of the ship so far as to leading us towards our eternal destiny. Our part has to do with what level of the ship we will choose to spend our time on. We can choose to take no real initiative in anything and spend our journey confined to one of the lower cabins of the boat living on bread and water confined to a 2 meter by 3 meter room or we can choose something better for ourselves and make some decisions and take some action and live up on the deck enjoying the panoramic views of the ocean called life, swimming in the pool of adventure, whilst enjoying the company of inspiring motivated people who have also chosen to live the experience of their lives out on this level.

The reason 95% of people never go on to fulfill their dreams is not a lack of vision, plans, knowledge, money or opportunity, but simply a lack of taking action.

One of the most dangerous bad habits to fall prey to is the habit of procrastination. The word procrastination means: “to postpone doing what one should be doing”. (1)

I am a firm believer that right actions always follow right thinking. If we are going to get to doing something then we probably need to deal with how we are thinking first.

Following I have listed 3 life signs that will indicate if you are stuck in wrong thinking that leads people into the habit of procrastinating along with a success principle alongside of it to help you overcome it.

1) You are always busy, but you usually don’t go anywhere!

You are busier than you have ever been, sometimes you catch yourself even bragging about it to people, the things you are busy with you don’t really like doing and they don’t really bring anything of significance to your world, but you are scared to stop doing all of the stuff just in case you might find out that it really doesn’t mean much to your life anyway.

Success principle: Stop, step back and reevaluate.

Many years ago when I used to get bored, I would play a game that was on my computer called "spider solitaire”. I played it so much that I got pretty good at it. One of the things I would find frustrating was that sometimes I would be close to the end of the game and I would get stuck, the current cards that I had opened could not be moved any further. After a little while I discovered that you could go to the top left hand side of the screen and open the file folder and hit the "undo" button, this would reverse your last move, then I could choose an alternate card and usually finish the game.

Sometimes you just need to stop and step back from the busyness of life and take stock of what you actually value, then begin to ask yourself if you are busy giving your time and strength to the things you truly value or not and if you are not, then take action, change something, anything so that your time and strength begin to be spent on the things that truly matter to you.

2) Making decisions makes you tired!

Do you get anxious every time you need to make decisions? Would you rather avoid the issue and hope that it goes away all by itself rather than have to make a definitive choice about something? If this describes you most of the time, then I’m sorry to say that you are stuck in procrastination.

Success principle: Fix your decision trigger.

The stress of decision making can be greatly reduced if you get honest and aware about what is actually happening to you on the inside when you get to the point of having to decide on something. Many people have a faulty decision trigger because of the anxious state that they allow themselves to get into when they need to make a decision.

Nobody is 100% confident about everything they choose, there will always be that element of fear and doubt after we have made a decision for something, just learn to minimize the risks and get some knowledge and understanding on the subject. Then make your decision and reconcile that you made the best decision with the information available to you at the time. Perfection is a myth when it comes to decision making, the best decision you can make is the right one, the second best decision you can make is the wrong one and the worst decision you can make is no decision at all.

3) Tomorrow is your best friend

Have you ever heard the statement “Tomorrow never comes”, it is so true!
If on a day to day basis you catch yourself saying that you will do this or that tomorrow more than doing this right away, then you are choosing to fall into the terrible habit of procrastinating.

Success principle: Do it, delegate it or dump it.

When something comes across your world and you need to make a decision about it simply ask yourself 3 questions. Shall I do it know, should I delegate it to someone else and do I really need this thing in my life and if not Ill dump it. I guarantee you from experience that 90% of the things that come your way can be sorted via this success principle.

What are you going to demand from life via your strong decision making followed by determined action?

Do something, anything, get creative, change your steps, take a deep breath and with all the faith you can muster step out of your comfort zone and do something different.
